Calaway's Yellowstone Ranch

Just a fence line separates beautiful Yellowstone National Park from the Calaway family's working Yellowstone cattle ranch. Fall River, a nationally designated wild and scenic river borders on the south. Escape to the West as it used to be, riding along side present day working cowboys as they care for a herd of over one thousand five hundred head of cattle on over 27,000 acres of scenic Idaho back country, unspoiled by man.

Enjoy crisp mountain air, breathtaking views of the majestic Garand Tetons cascading waterfalls, and pristine rivers and streams filled with native trout. observe moose, elk, deer, bear, coyotes, wolves, and an occasional buffalo in their native habitat. Swans osprey, and other waterfowl grace the many lakes and streams.

After a hearty home style breakfast, ride out from camp at a comfortable pace on a horse you have been paired up with based upon your riding skills. Leave your telephone, and your present day concerns back at home as you step back in time to become a part of the Calaway's Yellowstone Ranch cowboy crew. The week is limited to 6 guests as we can't give large numbers the "real" cowboy experience.

Learn to trail (drive), gather, doctor, rope, and check cow/calf pairs. Spreading salt and riding fence may also be a part of your day in this beautiful part of the American west. Return in the evening pleasantly tired and at peace with the world. Relax, clean up, and sit down to a nourishing hot meal. Home style cooking and more than enough food to satisfy the hardiest of appetites.

After supper you may want to try your hand at fishing in one of the many streams located throughout the range. You can practice roping, or visit one of the several scenic attractions close by. A fire pit is always available to socialize with your fellow wranglers, for those that just want to relax, and reflect on the day's activities and anticipate the coming days - new adventures. Meet new friends, and create memories to last a lifetime.

Drift off to sleep enjoying the natural sound of the forest and wildlife. Modern, cabin style sleeping quarters with a private bathroom, will guarantee a comfortable nights sleep.
